A beautiful and thoughtfully equipped apartment in a fabulous location with stunning views over the countryside. Kathie & Chris are excellent hosts who’ve spared no detail in providing every essential, and more, for the visitors to their holiday retreat. We came to Crete for a relax and collapse from our busy lives and found the perfect haven – we really loved it. We shall certainly return and whole heartedly recommend The House in the Sun to anyone looking for an escape from the crowds and hurly burly of the resort areas.

The House in the Sun is a truly lovely place to stay….a real gem. The apartment is beautifully spacious and has been generously furnished and equipped to a very high standard, we wanted for nothing.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the big views which subtly changed with the weather. Chris and Kathie are the perfect hosts – thoughtful and kind, nothing was too much trouble. We would not hesitate in recommending this property …it is just lovely!

There are many reasons to choose this place for a stay on Crete!

*The hospitality of Chris and Cathy. We had really nice talks, they took good care. Perfect!

*The apartment is also perfect. Everything you need is there. It’s clean and practical, but also tastefully furnished and decorated.

*We enjoyed the magnificent view: the olive tree covered hills nearby and overlook of beautiful colouring mountains at sunset, all the way to the Ida in the distance.

*The apartment is situated just outside a little village, but within 20 minutes you are at the beach of Kalyves. Also Chania, Rethymnon is nearby and a lot of other places (Aptera!) of interest…..You can also make beautiful walks from here….

We recently had a 2 month stay in this apartment. Kathie and Chris could not have been more friendly or helpful what wonderful hosts. We found the apartment very clean and comfortable, especially the sofa and the bed and the kitchen was a bonus as we like to self cater as well as eat out. The position of the apartment afforded wonderful views of the mountains and the valley and beautiful sunrises. It was very convenient for shops, tavernas and beaches. The local taverna next to the pharmacy in Agio Pantes served excellent fresh food just 5 minute drive. Would recommend the apartment for a short or long stay holiday.

We’ve had a lovely week in Crete. The apartment suited us perfectly. We loved its location and views of the mountains were spectacular. The apartment was thoughtfully provided with many home from home touches – we really appreciated the beach things!

Casa espectacular!

Hemos estado genial! La casa es preciosa y se respira mucho aire fresco y tranquilidad. Después de todo un día sin parar se agradece llegar y disfrutar del porche , de la naturaleza y sin ruido alguno para poder desconectar de todo y coger fuerzas para seguir recorriendo la isla al día siguiente. Kathie anda Chris super amables simpáticos, te ayudan en todo lo q necesites, son encantadores. Recomiendo esta casa y sus alrededores es muy agradable y relajante!

We have had a wonderful break in truly breathtaking scenery. Everything about this week has been wonderful; a lovely comfortable apartment, great views. I want to imprint on my mind the awesome mountain scenery. This really is the true Greece.

Kathie et Chris sont des hôtes vraiment charmants et très chaleureux, à l’écoute de nos besoins. Leurs indications pour accéder à l’appartement sont précises et claires.Le tarif est très concurrentiel. L’appartement, située au rez de chaussée de leur maison bénéficie d’une vue à couper le souffle ( au loin le mont Psiloritis, sommet de la Crète). L’appartement est très joliment décoré et bien équipé avec une grande terrasse et une pergola équipée de mobilier de jardin. Il n’y fait pas trop chaud en été grâce aux murs épais en pierre de taille. Pour rejoindre la plage de Kalyves il faut seulement 15 minutes en voiture.Nous avons fait de belles randonnées (outre les gorges de Samaria bien sûr): Chris nous a même emmenés au départ des gorges de Diktamos. Et que dire de leurs talents de musiciens!! Nous recommandons fortement cette location (L’an prochain avec piscine!), vous ne pourrez pas être déçus!

Perfect location with great views. We really liked how quiet and relaxed it was but we could easily get to the beach, all the restaurants and it was very central to explore the island. The location was perfect. The apartment is immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. We will return soon!
